  • Role Purpose
  • The Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) I performs processing and routine testing on blood and other specimens which requires a knowledge and understanding of quality control, basic instrument maintenance, and procedure methodologies and reference ranges. Demonstrates good laboratory practices.
  • Responsibilities
  • + Operates all instrumentation in assigned areas to deliver precise, timely, and accurate laboratory results.

Performs all testing and operation of equipment as necessary to deliver quality results. + Reports results through the laboratory computer system accurately, meeting published turn around times for routine testing and stats. + Performs quality controls for all equipment and troubleshoots malfunctioning instrumentation as necessary. + Participates in performance improvement activities and initiatives by proactively diagnosing and resolving problems. Specific quality functions are handled in an organized and timely fashion.
