We are currently recruiting for a Dispatcher.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

The job duties of a customer services/dispatcher consist of the following: Manage all calls for AAA and emergency towing in a professional and timely manner. Calls will include, but not limited to, city and state police, cash call customers, and account holders. Answer all incoming phone calls on the 1st ring when possible. Attempts to accept all requests for towing as directed by the Lead Dispatcher. Enters complete detail of all calls and updates to calls immediately after receipt in towing system. Must maintain and present a professional image of company, void of any unnecessary background noise. Dispatches towing and emergency road service calls to drivers in the most efficient and timely manner by matching the proper personnel and geographical location of calls. Attempts to double up on calls when possible. Provides information to the driver, upon request, to assist in the efficient response to disabled vehicles and customers. This will include, but not be limited to, providing directions to the pickup/drop-off locations and assistance in determining cost associated with the call. Documents and provides to the Lead Dispatcher (no later than close of business the following business day) the following:

  • All necessary notes to aid in billing or other call research.
  • Attends and participates actively in all in-house training classes and other outside training programs that are made available. Attends and participates actively in all office meetings as required.
  • Performs other job duties as assigned by the towing manager.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Two years experience in the customer services/dispatching of emergency road service or other relevant experience is preferred. High School diploma or equivalent.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
  • Strong English language reading, writing, and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to read maps, knowledge of geographic area served, give clear precise directions.
  • Able to perform basic mathematical computations.
  • Strong multi-tasking ability for coordinating location of drivers with pending service calls.
  • Knowledge of function and capacity of all equipment dispatched.
  • Strongly skilled in organization and attention to detail.
  • Computer application experience to include Word and Excel, Keyboarding experience.
  • Ability to answer multi-line phones in a timely manner and operate fax machines, copiers, calculators, and other office equipment as required.
  • Must be able to receive and follow instructions.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Ability to adapt to change and work under stressful conditions usually brought about by having to meet deadlines or an emergency that arises.
