We’re looking for a personal lines specialist that’s ready to grow a long-term career in our Clinton, MS office. You’ll need to be a self-starter with insurance industry experience. This is not a sleepy data-entry and customer service-only position. High retention of an assigned book of personal lines insurance business and development of new business sales are expectations. Compensation for this position is a base salary + commission on new sales, so the sky is the limit. You’re not just joining one of Mississippi’s largest agencies. Essential Duties & Responsibilities New Business Development Expand the assigned book of business by identifying cross-selling opportunities, recommending appropriate coverage options, and closing sales. Proactively prospect and follow up on new business opportunities outside the agency to grow the client base. Retention & Client Satisfaction Maintain strong client relationships and high retention rates, meeting or exceeding annual retention goals. Team Collaboration Work closely with teammates to provide personal lines customer service, marketing, renewal support, and billing assistance for an assigned book of business. Follow established best practices, standards, and procedures to ensure smooth operations and consistent client service. Adhere to Best Practices & Procedures Maintain detailed documentation of client and insurance carrier interactions in the agency management system, ensuring accuracy and timely data entry. Handle the preparation and processing of all transactions and paperwork for new business sales and policy renewals. Client Communication & Support Develop an understanding of clients’ insurance needs, evaluate available options, and recommend the most suitable plans. Serve as the primary contact for clients, resolving complex service, claims, and billing issues that require expertise and policy interpretation. Organize and lead virtual or in-person client meetings as needed. Carrier Partner Relations Build and maintain strong relationships with insurance carrier underwriters, effectively communicating and negotiating coverage options. Professional Development Stay up to date on industry trends and requirements by attending continuing education courses and training as needed. Required Experience & Skills Experience 1-3 years of experience working with an independent agency or brokerage License/Certification Active Property and Casualty License in MS or the ability to be licensed quickly Skills Data entry and online quoting experience Experience using an agency management system (AMS360 experience is preferred but not required) Demonstrated proficiency with Windows computer systems Microsoft Office suite experience (Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word, etc.) Strong knowledge of insurance terminology, coverages, policies, and procedures 1
- 3 years experience in a similar position Preferred Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a business or finance-related discipline or commensurate experience High school diploma or GED at minimum Exceptional telephone and written communications demeanor Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality Schedule 8 hours: Monday
