About the Agency
The Mississippi Public Service Commission supervises and regulates certain communication companies, electric, gas, water, and sewer utilities. It is the Commission’s responsibility to see that rates and charges for service are just and reasonable, that approved rates are adhered to, that utility service is reasonably adequate, and that facilities constructed or acquired by utilities are required to serve the public. In carrying out its responsibilities, the commission answers and investigates various types of complaints from. The agency is divided into three districts: Northern, Central, and Southern. About the Position
The Central District seeks a qualified professional to serve as a Customer Service Representative. This person will be a valued member of the complaint investigative staff and responsible for handling consumer complaints of the Central District. A Customer Service Representative will be assigned multiple complaints a day so an ability to multitask is essential. It is the Customer Service Representatives’ job to ensure utility customers are receiving fair and adequate service from their provider.
What you’ll need to be Successful
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Including Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
- High school degree or GED Equivalent
- Experience with office equipment (i.e., fax, printer, scanner, etc.)
- Written and verbal communication skills
- Multitasking and time management skills
- Ability to be present in the office during regular business hours
- Professional attitude and appearance
Preferred Qualifications
Typically requires High School Diploma or equivalent and 2-4 years of experience.
Agency preferred qualifications:
Excellence in Microsoft Office Suite
