About this

Position:

As VOC Senior Engineer I, you willsupport a design division(s) in thoroughly understanding thecustomer experience and improving alignment between design conceptand customer expectations.

Responsibilities include:

Customer Voiceexpert for assigned area(s).

  • Analyze customer feedback such aswarranty, IQS, Consumer Reports, etc from a customer viewpoint &align it to the engineering background & technical strategies ofinternal Design Groups.
  • Apply SME level technical & data analysisskills using variety of tools (ad-hoc, mTab, Excel, QlikView, SQL,etc). Regularly apply Engineering approaches to analysis.
  • Conductcompetitor benchmarking activities and correlate findings tocustomer market feedback
  • Concisely summarize & communicatecustomer priorities to promote design strategy improvements.
  • LeadPDCA initiatives for assigned area(s)
  • Support long-term strategyand design planning, including Research themesSubject matter expert(SME) & window for external “customer voice” partner (ex. ConsumerReports)
  • Disseminate related information & share pertinentsummaries with Organization
  • Build mutually beneficial businessrelationship thru strong communication & Organizational alignment.
  • Go to person for related questions & requests from entireOrganization.
  • Apply Engineering background to support technicaldiscussions outside Honda
  • Demonstrate high professionalismrepresenting Honda thru communication & external facingevents.

Project leadership & support.

  • Lead internal VOC projects asassigned. Support higher level Organizational projects as needed.
  • Continuous self & skill progression with goal of being able to leadhigh level projects in future role(s).
  • Utilize Engineeringapproach towards situation assessment & path forward proposal.
  • Leverage SME skills / knowledge in areas of Honda customer feedbackdata sources, data analysis, deep Honda & competitor productunderstanding, etc
  • Create concise presentation decks and slidesneeded to communicate effectively for assigned areas.
  • Key neededproven attributes include assessment, correlation, organization, &communication skills.

Internal VOC Team regular support (planned &unplanned)

  • Support the development of your VOC colleagues whereyour strengths align with their goals
  • Maintain assigned upkeepareas for company internal VOC SharePoint
  • Miscellaneous relatedneeds as they arise.

Who we are seeking:

Required Experience:

5+ yearsof relevant experience.

Required Education:

Bachelor’s degree inrelated field (Engineering preferred) or equivalent experienceOtherjob-specific skills:

  • Strong technical background with provenability to quickly grasp new technical concepts.
  • Must be able toeffectively communicate subjective views (customer perspective) toa technical audience.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicateeffectively at both a high level (to executive leadership) and at avery detailed level (to design engineer)
  • Proven ability to takehigh level direction or requests and dig deeper than face value tomaximize benefit and represent the actual needs of the customer.
  • Ability to take high-level direction and press forward inambiguity, with minimal guidance.
  • Persistence and long-termviewpoint is critical to success and job satisfaction.
AdditionalPosition Factors:
  • Hybrid Work Style (typically 3 days in officeper week)
  • Typical day: Office or remote environment. Desk work-70%, meetings -25%, Vehicle checks -5%
  • Some travel required,including factory trips where work environment will requireextensive time on feet.
