In this role, you will be the first point of contact for our customers, providing exceptional service while efficiently handling transactions. Your ability to communicate effectively and manage cash handling tasks will be essential in ensuring a positive shopping experience for our customers. Duties Greet customers warmly and assist them with inquiries, providing knowledgeable answers to their questions. Operate the cash register accurately, processing transactions and managing cash handling with precision. Utilize retail math skills to ensure accurate pricing and discounts during checkout. Engage in upselling techniques to promote additional products and enhance customer satisfaction. Conduct product demonstrations when necessary, showcasing features and benefits to encourage purchases. Supervise junior staff or new associates as needed, providing guidance and support in daily operations. Maintain a clean and organized checkout area, ensuring all supplies are stocked and readily available. Collaborate with team members to achieve store goals and enhance overall customer service. Qualifications Previous experience in a grocery store or retail environment is preferred. Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse customers. Proficiency in basic math skills for accurate cash handling and transaction processing. Experience with cash registers and point-of-sale systems is an advantage. Ability to upsell products and engage customers in a friendly manner. Supervisory experience is a plus but not required; willingness to learn is essential. Must be detail-oriented, organized, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
