Cashier/Customer Service Stanly Community Christian Ministry 1324 East Main Street, Albemarle, NC 28001 The SCCM Clothing Closet is searching for a well-rounded, hard-working cashier and Customer Service Associate that can help us serve our community! This employee would be trained to sort clothing, stock merchandise, assist clients in need of clothing and be a cashier. They would need to have exceptional customer service skills and be ready to help customers when needed. Being a team player is a must for this busy retail store and you will be appreciated and recognized as an important part of the team. This position would be required to lift up to 50 pounds.

A detailed list of responsibilities:

Sorting Room Ability to do lifting and climbing: be able to lift 50 pounds and assist in warehouse stocking clothing Ability to work well with others in our team environment Ability to read and write legibly Ability to understand written and verbal instructions Be familiar with current trends Have the ability to discern good usable and seasonable clothing Sort, hang, and pack out of season clothing Keep store stocked with available clothing or items for your area Be familiar with where and how holiday items, school supplies, and etc. are packaged. Be familiar with where household and other items are categorized Accept, assist and thank donors. Issue donor receipts upon request Assist with sweeping and mopping sorting room, cleaning bathrooms and water fountain according to cleaning schedule. At the end of the day, make sure your workstation is left straight and orderly. At the end of the day, make sure your trash and salvage are put in the proper place. Assist with turning off lights, setting air/heat, and unlocking all inside doors. Pack off-season boxes and place them at the end of the counter to be put up Sales Floor Be familiar with prices according to the price guideline book Be familiar with the register operations Run cash register efficiently Be able to count daily register money at the end of the day Clean out dressing room often Keep register area clean at all times and floor clean Take all hangers to the back and put them into proper boxes at the end of your shift on the register Assist customers with carry-outs Clean sales floor when you are not busy assisting customers Look inside and outside doors when finishing the day’s tally When the warehouse manager is not on-site, you may be required to push buggies upstairs to load on the trailer and empty trash buggies into the dumpster. All employees work together to get the job done!
