Customer Service Representative 4.0 4.0 out of 5 stars 315 Matthews Indian Trail Road, Indian Trail, NC 28104 JOB SUMMARY Primarily responsible for providing effective customer service for all internal and external Town of Indian Trail customers by utilizing excellent, in-depth knowledge of the Towns policies and programs as well as team members within the Tax and Public Works Departments.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Greets the public and directs customer(s) to appropriate staff member(s) Answers questions regarding general town services and solid waste Process solid waste requests in Trac-Ez Support the Revenue/Sr Revenue Tax Technicians as necessary (receiving money from walk-in customers as needed) Maintain a detailed knowledge of the residential solid waste schedule as well as bulk pick-up do’s and don’ts Answer inbound telephone calls and emails concerning general inquiries from citizens of the Town of Indian Trail Routes calls or emails to the appropriate staff person for response Performs other related tasks as required.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities; Ability to maintain complex clerical records and prepare reports; Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, Town employees, Town officials and the public; Knowledge of basic town facts and in-depth knowledge of the solid waste contract. Strong ability to communicate both verbally and in writing in a clear and concise manner; Ability to acquire a thorough knowledge of the policies, regulations, and procedures of the Tax and Public Works Departments. Knowledgeable in the use of Microsoft applications including Word, Outlook, and Excel

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma and a minimum of 2 years of customer service experience, preferably in local government. Any equivalent combination of education, experience or training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities will be considered.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Work involves walking, talking, hearing, using hands to handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls and to reach with hands and arms. The employee may be required to pull, push, lift and/or carry objects up to 25 pounds.

POSITION TYPE/ EXPECTED WORK HOURS

This is a full-time position. Days of work are Monday through Friday.
