Cashier/Customer Service Cafe de Lyon 318 Broad Avenue, Leonia, NJ 07605 Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and friendly Customer Service Associate / Cashier to join our team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for our customers, providing exceptional service while handling transactions efficiently. You will play a crucial role in creating a positive shopping experience and ensuring customer satisfaction in our grocery store environment. Duties Operate the cash register and process customer transactions accurately using POS systems. Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers, answering inquiries, and assisting with product selection. Maintain a clean and organized checkout area, ensuring that all stock is replenished as needed. Handle cash transactions responsibly, ensuring accurate cash handling and adherence to company policies. Demonstrate product knowledge through engaging product demos to enhance customer experience. Communicate effectively with customers and team members, utilizing strong phone etiquette when necessary. Assist in stocking shelves and maintaining inventory levels to ensure product availability. Utilize retail math skills to manage transactions and provide accurate change. Experience Previous experience in a grocery store or retail environment is preferred but not required. Familiarity with cash registers and POS systems is advantageous. Strong communication skills with an emphasis on customer service excellence. Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and responsibly. Experience with product demonstrations is a plus but not mandatory.
