Patient Service Representative Job Description The Patient Representative / Front Desk Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for patients, delivering exceptional, patient-centered service. This role is responsible for facilitating access to care in a courteous, knowledgeable, and efficient manner. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a diverse population. This position plays a vital role in the healthcare team by managing the registration and appointment process and ensuring a seamless patient experience. Responsibilities Greet and assist patients with daily front desk operations, ensuring all necessary steps for service delivery are initiated. Communicate clearly and professionally with patients and team members across all service touchpoints (in-person, phone, mail, and digital). Schedule appointments, explain services and associated fees, and collect payments as needed. Verify insurance coverage and determine fees based on the sliding scale fee structure. Distribute essential materials to patients, including satisfaction surveys, patient rights documentation, and other relevant information. Maintain compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and job-specific standards. Essential Skills Customer service Medical knowledge Health care Healthcare reception EMR Prior authorization Data entry Additional Skills & Qualifications High School Diploma/GED Work Environment The position is based in a clinical setting with a schedule of Monday, Thursday & Friday from 9 to 5 and Tuesday & Thursday from 10 to 6.
