Summary The Spanish Speaking Member Service Representative will provide information on Credit Union products and services to members in accordance with Credit Union policies, procedures, and state and federal rules and regulations. He or she is responsible for conducting a variety of member transactions via telephone, in person, by mail, or email. The Member Service Representative provides excellent member service in all interactions, evaluating members’ needs, and recommending financial solutions that help our members and potential members achieve financial wellness. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Build and strengthen member relationships by greeting members in a courteous, professional manner providing superior member service and responding to their questions accurately and efficiently. Provide solutions to members’ financial needs by understanding each individual’s financial situation. Open new member accounts, IRAs, CDs, and assist members with their banking needs by servicing existing accounts, completing loan applications, and troubleshooting online banking issues. Ensure all member forms are complete with appropriate signatures, disclosures, and supporting documents and are properly scanned in the member’s file. Perform Notary Public duties adhering to New York State Notary requirements. Support the Credit Union’s financial mission and vision by delivering a consistent, professional approach that always exceeds the Credit Union’s Four Pillars. Suggest Credit Union products and services utilizing Ocean Financial Federal Credit Union’s preferred method of selling. Observe Credit Union guidelines, policies, and procedures to adhere to compliance regulations and security standards such as maintaining dual control and identifying fraudulent activity to prevent potential loss. Maintain up-to-date and comprehensive knowledge on all Credit Union products and services that are handled or promoted by Member Service Representatives. Assist with consumer loan production for branch by inputting loans into core system. Refer all inquiries related to mortgages, HELOCs, and other real estate loan products offered by the Credit Union to Lending Officers. Maintain all Credit Union members and employee related business in strictest confidence. Accommodate flexible work schedule to meet branch needs, including availability to work evenings and weekends. Provide Spanish Speaking Member Service Representative coverage to other branch locations as needed. Perform other duties as assigned. Education and/or Experience High school diploma required, and an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred. Two to five years’ related experience, and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience are required. Must possess good communication skills. Knowledge of Spanish is preferred. Certificates, Licenses, and/or Registrations New York State Notary Public License and Nationwide Multistate Licensing System (NMLS) Registration are required. Computer Skills Microsoft Word and Excel proficiency required. This is a full-time position that will require Friday evening and Saturday hours.
