FRONT OF HOUSE – UPSCALE PATISSERIE

Customer Service / Counter Service Duties & Responsibilities The ideal candidate will be responsible for greeting and assisting customers, taking orders, serving pastries and drinks, and maintaining a clean and organized dining area. Responsibilities include welcoming the customer, taking orders, educating customers on our pastries menu, making recommendations based on their preferences, up-selling special items etc. To be successful in this role, you should have customer service skills and knowledge and be able to work various shifts. The Front of House Staff will also be responsible for handling cash and credit card transactions, and ensuring customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will be passionate, as well as have a positive attitude, flexibility, and clear communication.

KNOWLEDGE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Greet customers as they enter with enthusiasm
Give customers drink menus and answer their questions regarding ingredients
Take orders while paying attention to details
Prepare beverages following recipes
Serve beverages and prepared food
Receive and process payments (cash and credit cards)
Keep the bar area clean and dining area as well Ability to be hands on with a fully consistent attention to cleanliness (wipe tables / banquette / outside terrace / pastry case / back counter…) and clutterless organization per the upscale standard of the business
Ability to be flexible and adapt to varying business needs, tasks and duties based on fluctuating day-to-day operations
Taking inventory
Comply with health and safety regulations
Communicate customer feedback to managers SKILLS Knowledge of sanitation regulations
Flexibility to work various shifts Ability to gauge customers’ preferences
Excellent communication skills
