About Us – Over 40 Years of Care in the Heart of Queens Founded in 1982 by Dr. Sergio Rubio as International Animal Clinic, our practice has been a pillar in the Queens community for decades. In 2021, we evolved into IAC Urgent Vets to meet the growing demand for advanced, urgent veterinary care. What hasn’t changed? We’re still proudly family-owned and operated—and deeply committed to supporting our team. We operate 7 days a week from 2 PM to 12 AM , and in response to growing demand, we now offer 24-hour care from Thursday through Sunday —making us one of the most accessible and trusted urgent care centers in the NYC veterinary space. Your Role as a Customer Experience Specialist As a Customer Experience Specialist , you’re the first voice clients hear and the first face they see when they walk through our doors—often during a stressful or emotional time. Your ability to stay calm, listen carefully, and communicate clearly makes all the difference for pets and their people. In this role, you will: Greet and check in clients with professionalism, warmth, and urgency Manage multi-line phones, emails, online chat, and in-person inquiries efficiently Support triage by collecting essential information for urgent and emergency cases Clearly communicate hospital procedures, wait times, and care plans Schedule appointments and facilitate urgent admissions Handle invoicing, process payments, and discuss financial options with empathy Maintain accurate client communications and medical records Provide emotional support for clients during difficult or high-pressure situations You’ll receive hands-on training in: Veterinary medical terminology and urgent care protocols How to assist with basic patient triage Managing high-volume, high-stress interactions with clarity and empathy Using veterinary-specific software and integrating diagnostic tools Communication techniques that foster trust, reassurance, and professionalism

About You:

Experience in a veterinary or medical office is a plus, but not required—we’ll train the right person Excellent communication skills—both written and spoken Cool under pressure, with strong multitasking abilities Compassionate and client-focused, especially in emotionally charged moments Detail-oriented, organized, and proactive Tech-savvy and ready to learn new systems quickly A natural team player who’s always ready to help
