Universal Member Service Representative Educational and Governmental Employees FCU 22 West 1st Street, Mount Vernon, NY 10550 Overview We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Universal Member Services Representative to join our team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for our members, providing exceptional member service and support. You will assist with various financial transactions, address member inquiries, and promote our financial services to enhance member satisfaction and loyalty. Responsibilities Adhere to the Educational and Governmental Employees FCU high service standards, as communicated by the supervisor. Daily balancing of cash drawer and calculating the end-of-day totals Assist in balancing Automated Teller Machine (ATM), as needed Stay current with operational changes, regulations and required training. Process member mail Provide in-person and telephone general & specific service-related information concerning credit union services or policies Process SEG Payrolls Be knowledgeable in credit union products and services in order to identify and meet the needs of our members by cross selling Perform daily routine member transactions including but not limited to: deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, transfers, check cashing. Issue and/or sell money orders and cashier’s checks. Open, close, and maintain accounts including: savings, checking, money market, certificates of deposit, and IRA’s. Assist accounting in posting daily ACH and Share Drafts Assist members with the loan application process to ensure completeness of information Collect required loan documents, paystubs, bill of sales etc. Pull credit reports for all accounts, verify debts, estimate monthly payments for any outstanding debts not listed and add them to debts on application. Calculate debt-to-income ratios on loan applicants, and calculate how much of a loan applicant’s debt is secured or unsecured. Complete loan applications in person, over the phone and/or electronically. Complete loan documents and disburse loans when approved Position may require providing coverage to our other branch Other duties as assigned by supervisor. Skills/Qualification Experience in Credit Unions or banking is preferred. Strong understanding of debits and credits in financial transactions. Proficiency in customer relationship management practices. Sales skills to effectively promote financial products and services. Familiarity with financial software applications for account management. Ability to operate a cash register accurately. Excellent relationship management skills to foster strong connections with members. Strong mathematical skills for transaction processing and account management.
