Job Description The Customer Service Representative will act as the first point of contact for our customers and will be the face of United Garage Door throughout our customer experience. The Customer Service Representative will be responsible for answering inbound calls and communicating with our customers to ensure their needs are met. They will also participate in the processing of orders and communicate these changes to our customers.
Responsibilities:
- Respond to customer inquiries via phone, email, and other communication channels in a timely and professional manner.
- Assist customers with product information, pricing, availability, and order placement.
- Process orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring all details are entered correctly into the system.
- Coordinate with various departments, including sales, logistics, and warehouse, to ensure timely delivery and resolution of customer issues.
- Proactively follow up with customers to ensure satisfaction with products and services.
- Handle customer complaints and concerns with empathy and professionalism, working to find satisfactory resolutions.
- Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and transactions in the database.
- Collaborate with the sales team to identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling products to customers.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in customer service, preferably in the building materials industry or related field.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a customer-focused approach.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in computer systems and experience with CRM software is preferred.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in data entry and order processing.
- Problem-solving skills with the ability to think quickly and creatively to resolve customer issues.
- Willingness to learn about our products and industry to better serve customers. Customer Service Representative Experience Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
- 2+ years of customer service experience in an industrial environment (preferred)
- Customer service experience with emphasis on sales, inventory, ordering, receiving, or processing of orders or other documents. Strong verbal skills required. Experience with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook) required.
- Ability to work on your feet for long periods of time (up to 8 hours per day) throughout the day; up to 50 hours per week; down stairs as needed. Experience working in a manufacturing environment highly desired.
- Ability to lift 25 pounds or more without assistance.
