Cashier/Customer Service Twin Oaks Materials & Supply 4334 Savannah Highway, Ravenel, SC 29470 Overview We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Customer Service Associate / Cashier to join our team. This role is essential in providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a smooth shopping experience for our customers. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a friendly demeanor, and the ability to handle transactions efficiently in a fast-paced retail environment, particularly within a grocery store setting. Responsibilities Greet customers warmly and assist them with their inquiries or concerns. Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system to process transactions accurately and efficiently. Handle cash, credit, and debit transactions while ensuring proper cash handling procedures are followed. Maintain knowledge of products to provide effective product demonstrations and upselling opportunities. Assist in stocking shelves, merchandising products, and maintaining an organized sales floor. Supervise junior staff as needed, providing guidance and support to ensure excellent customer service standards are met. Address customer complaints or issues promptly and professionally, utilizing strong phone etiquette when necessary. Collaborate with team members to achieve sales goals and enhance overall store performance. Skills Proven experience in customer service within a retail environment, preferably in grocery stores. Proficiency in operating POS systems and basic math skills for accurate transaction processing. Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with customers and team members. Experience in merchandising, stocking, and retail sales techniques is highly desirable. Ability to upsell products through effective communication and product knowledge. Bilingual abilities are a plus, enhancing communication with a diverse customer base. Supervising experience is beneficial for those looking to take on leadership roles within the team.
