Position Overview:
Siemens Mobility is seeking to fill an early career CommodityManagement Associate to drive the development and implementation ofa procurement strategy and proactively engage the business andcross functional partners to ensure alignment with businessrequirements, early procurement, and supplier involvement. You willwork to achieving financial and non-financial targets byapplication of all relevant procurement levers, i.e. negotiations,supplier management, contract management, and delivery reliability.
This role will report into the head of commodity management andplays a key role in driving a strong culture of accountability,execution, collaboration, and customer focus to develop andimplement a procurement strategy for assigned commodities. The rolewill be based in Lexington, NC working in a hybrid setting. What your day-to-day will look like: Manage the total Purchasing Volume (PVO) of assignedcommodities. Establish best in class supply-chain-management processesfocused on productivity, quality, and availability. Derive innovative material field strategies based on marketintelligence, gear procurement processes towards strategicobjectives. Ensure implementation and development of Siemensstrategy, for assigned commodities. Drive supplier management processes to obtain the bestsuppliers and ensure transparency and early integration. Lead supplier management in commercial issues, supplierqualification, development, and overall relationshipmanagement. Negotiate master procurement agreements, including pricing,terms & conditions, payment terms in alignment with the widerSiemens community. Apply supply market intelligence, Siemens spend pooling, andall commercial and technical levers to drive productivity. Identify and qualify new suppliers, negotiate contracts, andlead supplier relationships to ensure alignment with companyobjectives and standards. Conduct Siemens spend data, supply market intelligence,supplier analysis. Develop and implement, with cross functional input, commoditystrategies, pooling strategies, supplier strategies & negotiationroadmap Leverage supplier expertise and/or technology to harnessimprovements in reducing total costs of ownership. Collaborate with global commodity management and/or productmanagement while optimizing company-wide buying power by reviewingthe financial, quality, pricing, service, and availability level ofsuppliers. Develop supplier relationships resulting in optimized supplychain efficiencies and security of supply. Evaluate supplier’scapabilities and capacities while implementing plans to ensureadequate supply of goods and services. Negotiate agreements withsuppliers that mitigate or spread the overall risk. To thrive in this role, you have: Bachelor’s degree. Minimum of 2 years of overall experience related to supplychain. Consistent record of success in developing and implementingsourcing strategies that deliver cost savings and supply chainimprovements. Strong negotiation skills with the ability to drive favorablecontract terms and agreements. Knowledge of supply chain principles, supplier risk management,and regulatory compliance. Demonstrated understanding of entire supply chain and costdrivers. Demonstrated data and financial analysis capability. Strong analytical and interpersonal skills and ability tonegotiate with both internal and external partners. Microsoft Suite computer skills, with exceptional skills inExcel & working with large data sets. Excellently demonstrated verbal and written communicationsskills. Ability to travel 10-15% domestically. Setting you apart from others would be a bachelor’s degree ineconomics, engineering or business-related degree with experiencein SAP and electronic purchasing tools. Crossfunctional/organizational project management and facilitationskills and demonstrated knowledge of category management conceptsor strategic sourcing concepts with solid continuous improvementskills.
CPM, CPSM
