Position Overview:
The Siemens Mobility Customer Services SCM Order Management &Logistics Team is seeking a Logistics Project Professional. Thisrole will order transportation services to the approved nominatedforwarders and carriers to acquire services at the lowest costconsistent with quality, deliver reliability and to the necessityof project’s need. One will maintain the lead times for theinternational and domestic transportation, customs clearance, andalign with the logistics corporate and logistics category team tomonitor the forwarders’ performance, and quality as negotiatedterms and conditions. This position will assist the Supply ChainManagement team in driving its strategies at a tactical level. Thisposition will be located in Lexington, NC. What your day-to-day will look like: Maintain, update, communicate relevant information (regardingdelivery schedules, transit lead times and contract information)from suppliers, procurement, and logistic service provider. Monitor and analyze operational transportation status of thedeliveries in the Internal Corporate and external MonitoringSystems to make sure the required agreed transit time (projectedvs. actual time from ready for shipment to physical delivery todestination point), required turnaround time for bookingtransportation, informs involved stakeholders in time and derivesand implement corrective/ alternative measures to adopt to changingsituations. Complete and communicate deficiency and transport statusreports for the stakeholders. Organize needed customs procedures and prepare paperwork forthe customs brokers as well as forwarding to the destination pointafter customs clearance. Work in conjunction with the Buyers’ team, corporate logisticsteam for improving total cost of ownership of products/services Coordinate return of logistic infrastructure and on-siteequipment used and steers respective logistics operations withlogistics service providers. Support Projects in development, calculation and implementationof logistics contingency measures, gains alignment on projectprioritization and requirements. Process claims with logistics service providers using Siemenstool EZ-Claim To thrive in this role, you have: High School Diploma/GED.
