Local Government-Customer Service Representative (Cash-handling and customer service experience required)

Schedule:

Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM We are a recruiting and staffing agency currently assisting a local government department in hiring a Customer Service Representative. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is VERY professional dependable, detail-oriented, and committed to providing excellent service to the public.

Position Overview:

The Customer Service Representative serves as a front-line point of contact for customers in person, over the phone, and via mail. This role involves handling payments, account updates, and general inquiries while maintaining accuracy and professionalism in all interactions.

Key Responsibilities:

Greet and assist customers at the front counter and drive-through window Answer incoming calls, provide information, and direct inquiries as needed Process payments received in person and by mail Balance daily receipts and maintain accurate transaction records Update customer account information in the system File and scan documents efficiently and accurately Research and resolve account issues or discrepancies Perform general clerical tasks and other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Prior customer service or administrative experience Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to handle cash and balance transactions accurately Proficiency with basic office technology and data entry Organized, reliable, and attentive to detail EEO/AA Employer/Vet/Disabled.
