Description
Star Manufacturing is seeking an inside Technical Service Representative If you have technical experience, we’d like to speak to you regarding our open technical service position. This position is in an office environment of a world class commercial cooking equipment manufacturing company. We’re looking for the right person to help take our branch to the next level! If you aren’t afraid of new challenges, learning new things, and can think creatively offering new ideas to improve our processes, you could be just the candidate that we need! Responsibilities include but not limited to: Calculating measurements, read simple drawings/layouts. Processing orders and customer quotes. Resolve customer complaints. Communicate with outside sales reps, as well as other branches. Data entry, answering phones, filing, faxing. Schedule pickups for shipments and ship packages using software. Maintains customer confidence and protects our operations by keeping sensitive information confidential.
Responsibilities of the
Position:
Respond accurately, promptly and effectively to technicians and customers via phone and email regarding equipment troubleshooting and repair.
Schedule equipment repair calls, start-ups, installations
Provide technical information support for sales, marketing, and product management Travel to customer sites with problematic equipment issues from time to time
Perform technical training in a classroom setting
Enter Return Material Authorizations and replacement equipment orders
Report continual workmanship and failures to management.
All other duties as assigned by management. Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree or Technical Degree preferred, H.S. Diploma or GED required. 3 years applicable field service technician experience may substitute
CFESA certification is a plus
Prior service experience preferred
Computer literate — MS Office — Outlook, Word, Excel exp. a must.
Must possess excellent telephone and computer skills.
Customer focused.
Must be organized and pay close attention to details.
Must be accountable and work with a sense of urgency
Mathematically inclined.
Must be able to read a measuring tape.
Ability to read wiring diagrams and exploded views required
Knowledge of gas and gas powered equipment required
Must be able to work independently
Display an upbeat attitude and a passion for satisfying customers
