JOB SUMMARY

EDUCATION
Required:
High school diploma or GED; or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Preferred:
Associate Degree in Business or related field preferred; or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
EXPERIENCE
Required:
One to two years of previous customer service and data entry experience.
Preferred:
Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel highly preferred.

Must possess strong customer service focus, social and interpersonal skills, and active listening skills. Ability to address concerns and communicate clearly and efficiently. (Essential Job Functions) Receive and process incoming orders from both sales team members and directly from the customer. Insert customer and account data by inputting text based and numerical information from source documents within time limits. Compile, sort and verify the accuracy of data before it is entered. Demonstrate high-level communication skills by expressing thoughts and information clearly and succinctly using proper business English and correct grammar Obtain customers’ names, addresses, and billing information, product numbers, and specifications of items to be purchased, and enter this information on order forms. Inform customers of order information, such as unit prices, shipping dates, and any anticipated delays. Make changes to or cancel orders/backorders. Receive and respond to customer complaints. Verify customer and order information for correctness, checking it against previously obtained information as necessary. Direct specified departments or units to prepare and ship orders to designated locations. Attempt to sell additional merchandise or services to prospective or current customers by telephone or through visits. Work closely with accounts payable to see that customer accounts are kept current. Cross-train with team members to develop the capability to act as a backup for other team members.
