Banking Full Job Description Customer Service Representative Position Summary:

The primary responsibility of a CSR is to provide excellent customer service and assist customers with various banking transactions and inquiries. CSRs must always maintain professionalism and effective communication with both customers and colleagues.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Note:

The following duties are not exhaustive and may be subject to change.

  • Greet and direct customers.
  • Receive and transfer phone calls and messages.
  • Maintain necessary records and files.
  • Develop knowledge of appropriate banking regulations.
  • Must develop knowledge of Bank functions and become proficient in cross-selling skills.
  • Explain various services and assist customers in selecting the appropriate service(s) needed.
  • Perform customer services, such as opening new accounts, ordering checks, processing stop payments, and processing alterations to existing deposit accounts, etc.
  • Open and maintain IRA’s.
  • CSR staff will follow up with customers after account opening and other services within a reasonable time frame (that being 10 business days from date of service). o To confirm the customer received their printed checks. o To inquire if the customer has any further questions regarding other services Planters Bank has to offer.
  • Open lockboxes and handle rental and billing.
  • Always maintain confidentiality.
  • May cross-train on teller line.
  • Will float from office to office as needed.
  • Perform any duties requested by a supervisor relating to the Bank and its’ functions.
  • Ensures compliance with all Federal and State banking Laws, regulations & rules.
  • Make sales calls to existing and prospective customers.
  • And, as directed, may perform other duties from time to time.
Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent required; additional education is a plus. Preferably 2 years of previous banking experience. Excellent sales and communication skills. Good understanding of financial products and services. Adequate typing skills. Ability to multitask. Good organizational skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to perform over-the-counter customer services with attention to detail. Strong judgment, courtesy, patience, and interpersonal skills required. Proficiency in computer use and familiarity with various systems.

Physical Demands:

Ability to talk, hear, and maintain a positive attitude, even in challenging situations. Ability to stand, sit, and reach; occasional lifting of up to 10 pounds. Must be able to use a swivel chair. Must be able to climb step ladder to reach lock boxes. Specific vision abilities include close vision.
