Service Writer Hornsby Garage 820 West Main Street, Union City, TN 38261 Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Service Writer to join our automotive service team. The ideal candidate will act as a liaison between customers and service technicians, ensuring that all customer needs are met efficiently and effectively. This role requires a strong understanding of vehicle maintenance and repair processes, along with excellent customer service skills to enhance the overall customer experience. Duties Greet customers promptly and professionally, addressing their automotive service needs. Accurately document customer concerns and vehicle issues to relay to service technicians. Provide detailed estimates for repairs and services based on technician assessments. Maintain clear communication with customers regarding the status of their vehicles throughout the service process. Process cash handling transactions for services rendered, ensuring accuracy in billing. Assist in scheduling appointments for vehicle maintenance and repair services. Stay informed about automotive products, services, and promotions to effectively communicate with customers. Collaborate with service technicians to ensure timely completion of services such as brake repair, tire service, shocks struts, and other automotive repairs. Requirements Previous experience in automotive sales or as a service technician is preferred. Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance and repair processes. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse clientele. Ability to transmit information clearly and accurately between customers and technicians. Familiarity with cash handling procedures and point-of-sale systems. A proactive approach to problem-solving and customer satisfaction. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. A passion for the automotive industry is a plus.
