Manufacturing Customer Service Rep 2.9 2.9 out of 5 stars 104 Western Drive, Portland, TN 37148 Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Customer Service Representative to join our team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for our customers, providing exceptional service and support. This role requires strong communication skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to handle inquiries efficiently while maintaining a high level of professionalism. Responsibilities Verify MMP’s ability to perform required purchase order work prior to communicating commitment. Enter, edit, document and maintain customer information, orders, approvals & inquiries in the current ERP system. Resolve AR and purchase order inconsistencies with the customer and document resolutions in writing on the purchase order prior to entry in the ERP system. Ensure that no verbal orders are accepted, and phone releases are conducted per work instruction. Issue, revise and maintain MMP customer requirement sheets accordingly, with 1 master copy retained for reference and obsolete documents discarded. Maintain, per mill direction, required raw material and process parts inventory levels (RI & RFI levels). When needed, request material from steel mill. Regularly review inventory, schedule production in sequence. Determine shipping schedule of coils, create / issue a shipping advice, inspection and BOLs. Place any nonconforming material on “Hold” status at the request of the customer, end user or quality inspector. Manage MMP inventory database for status of “Hold” material to reflect any changed status. Acquire proper authorization from customer or tech rep, as needed, and document accordingly. Change status in EDI to correspond to database status. Formalize non-conformances into logged corrective action requests, ensuring that they are escalated to the Quality Department and responded to in a timely manner. Where issues / complaints are caused by a failure in the CSR department, document root cause, corrective and preventative action and ensure effective implementation in a timely manner. Support department by cross-training, filling in during absence or easing over-burden of others.

Handle miscellaneous office duties:

FedEx, UPS, upkeep of office machines, etc. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certifications in customer service is a plus. Previous experience in a customer service role is preferred but not mandatory. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail. Proficient in using computers (MS Office) and familiar with customer relationship management (CRM /ERP) software. Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
