We are interviewing for a Parts & Technical Support Manager who must be technically skilled, attentive to detail, and capable of working both independently and as part of a team. The role demands strong problem-solving skills, an analytical mindset, and the ability to work under pressure in challenging environments. This position is pivotal for enhancing the smooth operations of the Technical Service Department at both the Corporate and Branch levels, ensuring the business can deliver its services effectively and efficiently and improve the overall customer and technical services experience. Packaging industry experience and knowledge of packaging equipment is very beneficial.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
Your role will create and maintain a Parts & Technical Support Document Library for quick reference, simplified ordering, and problem-solving in the field. Your role will create and maintain the Parts price lists and SKUs in this library. You will work with the company’s packaging machinery suppliers to identify all machine models and parts organization by model and/or serial number. Your role will be to organize and maintain the document library to include manuals, drawings, schematics & spare parts list for both stock equipment and customer assets by serial number. Identify and develop appropriate contacts at all Parts & Machinery suppliers. You will negotiate with suppliers for Parts price lists, discounts, & estimates, as needed, to ensure correct pricing for the Parts Customer Service Representatives and Technical Service team. You will be responsible for the Technical Service SharePoint and NetSuite document hubs and any Customer-facing Parts and Technical Service Portals. (future state). Development of Parts & Technical Support Document Library is paramount to future online support and parts sales. Responsible for tracking parts sales and identifying growth opportunities. This includes both current customers and new prospects. You will support the Technical Service Department in parts investigations, any quality issues, and meeting customer needs. Manage and support the parts ordering process, and ensure all customers are serviced promptly, accurately, and effectively. Continuously look for ways to improve. Support rollout of Parts and Technical Service initiatives and programs. Coordinate with Marketing on Parts and Technical Service promotions. This role will be the key liaison to Marketing. Participating in training and workshops to stay updated with the latest technological advancements and machine offerings. Your responsibilities may extend to supporting the Technical Service Department’s regular operations and other assignments, varying from specific investigation tasks to complex projects, requiring solid organization, communication, and technical skills. Experience:
Highschool Diploma / GED. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Technical Service-related background preferred 5+ years’ related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Competencies:
Ability to work cooperatively with others. Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally. Ability to organize workload, adapt quickly to change, and deliver under the pressure of deadlines. Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 programs, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams. Strong computer skills and ability to learn new software applications.
