Artist Mythic Float Works,LLC Mobile, AL Job Details Part-time | Full-time $13.50 – $18.00 an hour 1 day ago Benefits Paid time off Qualifications Entry level Full Job Description Job Overview We are seeking a talented and creative Artist to join our team building Mardi Gras floats for two female parading organizations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in visual design and strong drawing skills. This role requires a keen eye for detail, innovative thinking, and the ability to collaborate effectively with other team members. The Artist will contribute to projects that include drawing, sculpture and painting. Job starts in May and ends each year in Jan/Feb/March depending on when Fat Tuesday falls. Current year end date in Feb. 7th, 2026. Responsibilities Create/sculpt low relief props/painting of floats that align with project designs and client specifications. Ability to work on ladders up to 12 feet in height. Ability to manage time efficiently without constant supervision. There is no A/C or heat. Fans are permitted but heaters are not allowed. Work includes use of utility knives, drills, jigsaws/reciprocating saw, glue/contact cement, latex paint, ladders, and pneumatic spray guns. Experience A portfolio, digital or physical (physical preferred) is required for consideration. Strong drawing skills are a plus. Previous sculpture, painting, large scale murals or previous experience building Mardi Gras parade a plus. Previous experience building parades will be reflected in rate of pay offered.
