Our client is currently seeking a Principal Tools & Pipeline Technical Artist Technical Artist, Tools & Pipeline (Research & Development) About the Job The Technical Art team focuses on establishing and improving the systems, tools, rigs, assets, and workflows that empower artists to create the highest-quality content. As a Tools and Pipeline Technical Artist on the Research and Development team, you will define and build the tools and technologies used in experimental game modes. This role involves developing pipelines and tools for Digital Content Creation (DCC) software, collaborating with engineering to refine in-house tools, and partnering with artists to implement the most effective solutions. You’ll balance short-term problem-solving with sustainable workflow development. Responsibilities Collaborate with Tech Art and Engineering to develop artist-facing tools for Character Art, Environment Art, Animation, Rigging, and VFX Optimize internal artist tools, add features, and resolve bugs Work directly with end users to gather requirements and validate tool functionality Contribute to team discussions, planning, task breakdowns, and execution timelines Participate in peer code reviews, handle constructive feedback, and integrate end-user input Troubleshoot production issues related to art tools and creation workflows Minimum Qualifications 6+ years of experience as a Technical Artist in gaming or a related industry Expertise in Maya, Unreal Engine 5, and Python scripting Proven experience working with 3D character-based game production pipelines Strong commitment to building maintainable, testable, and stable systems Experience designing UI within artist DCC tools, such as Maya, Unreal Engine 5, Substance, and Photoshop Proficiency with version control systems (Perforce, Git) Exceptional communication skills and critical thinking ability, especially in translating artistic needs into workflow solutions Preferred Qualifications Experience developing Unreal Engine 5 Blueprints Proficiency in C++ programming By providing your phone number, you consent to: (1) receive automated text messages and calls from the Judge Group, Inc. and its affiliates (collectively “Judge”) to such phone number regarding job opportunities, your job application, and for other related purposes.
