Based on experience and project scope About Us Petal and Company x Holiday Collective is a NYC-based experiential design studio known for large-scale floral installations, custom holiday decor, and high-impact brand activations. We bring bold, immersive environments to life in lobbies, landmark buildings, public plazas, and hospitality spaces through inventive fabrication and layered storytelling. As we prepare for our busiest season, we’re looking to expand our freelance bench of 3D Experiential Designers and Render Artists who can translate ideas into stunning visuals and presentation-ready concepts. The Role You’ll work closely with our creative and production teams to design visually compelling, large-scale environments for seasonal decor programs and brand activations. From ornament installations to floral builds to oversized custom props, you’ll create designs and photorealistic renders that bring our concepts to life for internal planning and client presentation. What You’ll Do Create 3D renders and sketches of floral, holiday, and scenic installations Interpret creative direction, mood boards, and floor plans into tangible designs Build out architectural spaces using reference imagery or site photography Design with scale and fabrication feasibility in mind Produce fast, iterative drafts and evolve them into polished client-facing visuals Collaborate with production leads to adjust designs for real-world installs Incorporate feedback quickly and accurately while maintaining visual integrity Deliver layered PSDs, SketchUp, Rhino, or other files as needed for fabrication What You’ll Bring 1-3+ years of experience in experiential, scenic, event, or retail design Expert-level skills in 3D rendering tools (SketchUp, Rhino, Cinema4D, Enscape, etc.) Strong eye for scale, proportion, lighting, and materiality Ability to match the realism and atmosphere needed for large public spaces Comfortable working from vague briefs and jumping into fast-moving projects Strong communication skills and ability to take direction with flexibility Experience creating visuals for brand environments, seasonal decor, or visual merchandising Portfolio that demonstrates elevated taste, creativity, and realism in render output Bonus Points Knowledge of floral design or holiday decor execution Familiarity with NYC building types, lobbies, and property layouts Ability to also sketch by hand or illustrate concepts for early-stage ideation To Apply Send your portfolio, resume, and availability to hello@petalandcompany.co.
