Job Description
Audio Visual Technician/Live, Virtual, and Hybrid Events AV Solutions, LLC 5 Northgate Drive, Windsor Locks, CT 06096 The Audio-Visual Technician position works under the Project Manager to assist the Project Manager and team to set up, operate, and strike all the audiovisual components for client requested live, virtual, and hybrid events.
Job Responsibilities :
Pull and prep needed equipment/load, unload, and transport equipment Set up staging and scenic elements according to floor plan and design layout, set up and operate equipment (e.g., wireless microphones, PA systems, video screens, projectors, video monitors, and recording equipment) Connect wires and cables, sound and mixing boards, and other equipment needed for events and functions Test all equipment pre-event and troubleshoot, diagnose, and address issues as they arise Clean, itemize, and store audio and video equipment properly Participate in warehouse organization and operations Assist and support customers renting equipment Be capable of stepping into multiple roles, such as audio engineer, video graphics technician (edit and navigate presentation software), stage lighting management, and confidence monitor (notes) technician Other duties as needed
Qualifications:
Hands on knowledge and experience in the following abilities: Computer skills, include but not limited to Microsoft office apps, and navigating PC and Mac devices AV signal standards:
Video Signal Standards:
HD-SDI, HDMI, DVI, USB, DisplayPort Video and Graphics signal flow, Computer Resolutions Display types & uses
Audio Signal Flow:
Wired/wireless mics, audio for video, video playback
Connectors:
HDMI, DVI, BNC, XLR
An understanding of general principles behind audio and video signal flow in live events A proficiency with audiovisual equipment connections and cable management
Required:
2 years’ experience in presenter-style live, virtual and/or hybrid event audio-visual support (e.g., presentations, panel discussions, conferences, meetings)
Work Environment/Physical Demands:
The Audio-Visual Technician is required to work in the home office, on-site at client locations, and in public venues. While performing the essential duties of each job, the Audio-Visual Technician may be required to load and unload equipment in vehicles and transfer items of 50 pounds or more. The Audio-Visual Technician may be required to move equipment on uneven surfaces and throughout multiple levels inside and outside of buildings. Specific vision abilities include close and distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus of an image. Reasonable accommodations may be requested to perform the essential functions of the job.
