- Facilities and Event Operations Moorings Presbyterian Church 791 Harbour Drive, Naples, FL 34103 Description This Technician position is a regular full-time, non-exempt position scheduled for 40 hours/week, under the supervision of the (Supervisor).
This position works alongside and in support of all church events including Sunday Services, meeting setups (including AV, Hyacinth, Women Clubs, Bible Study, Preschool, etc.) as well as outside group events. Critical to success in this position is a strong “can do”, self-directed, hands-on approach. Positive interactions with congregants and outside event personnel are essential to the representation of Moorings Presbyterian Church. It requires a proactive steward who understands the ministry of maintaining a welcoming, safe and beautiful campus. Uses discretion and maintains a high degree of confidentiality. This position also requires a working knowledge of basic facilities operations and event support. Responsibilities Under direction of Supervisor, responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Ensures document is performed per schedule (see attached). Report any updates, discrepancies and/or changes need to Supervisor immediately;
- Prepares church facilities for Sunday worship and closes facilities after services are complete.
- Report any building and grounds and/or contractor issues to the Supervisor. Provide recommendations to Supervisor when skilled contractor needs are required for jobs.
- Maintaining church facilities and grounds, including minor installations, repairs and refurbishments, minor electrical, plumbing and general systems in a manner that meets all fire, building and preschool codes;
- Capable of coordinating multiple tasks and adjusting to changing priorities.
- Support for cleaning and janitorial services, as assigned by Supervisor
- Coordinating and supervising work of contractors for grounds, cleaning and major systems;
- Coordinating the maintenance of church vehicles;
- Working with the Supervisor to meet setup, breakdown, and technical needs for church events and facility rental events (eg zoom setup, Microphone and stand );
- Shares in staff rotation for event Church Coordinator coverage per assignment by Supervisor. This coordinator role serves as the on-site go-to person during special events, which may require evening hours.
- Support inventory level monitoring and restocking of church supplies to Supervisor. Receive said supplies, install and store appropriately;
- Performing tasks connected to Sunday worship and special events, including minor audio-visual, setups and operations;
- Being responsive to emergencies and possibly on-call for emergencies;
- Demonstrating consideration for ongoing ministry events throughout the workday, scheduling the above tasks in a way that maximizes an orderly appearance of our facilities and minimizes the impacts on groups present.
Schedule Off Season is defined as five months: May, June, July, August, September In Season is defined as seven months: January, February, March, April, October, November The work schedule is as follows and will flex based on events of the church. 7:30am
- 4:00pm Monday through Thursday Friday
- Off Saturday
- Off Sunday 7:30 am
- 1:30 pm The Facilities Technician may also be scheduled to work at special events as “Church Coordinator” on any day of the week, and will be paid the normal hourly rate, plus overtime as applicable. Off Season Flexibility to adjust OFF workdays with Supervisor during the off season (May

- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to fifty (50) pounds and be comfortable standing or walking for period of time. E.g., moving stacks of chairs, rolling round banquet tables, set up/breakdown before and after events. Assisting in decorating, retrieving and storing supplies.
- Ability to work from ladders, adjust to height and close quarters good eye-hand coordination and flexibility.
- Responsibilities require general knowledge and skills for maintenance of buildings and grounds e.g., experienced knowledge of HVAC systems, minor electrical and plumbing and fire systems.
- Maintains a valid driver’s license.
- Maintains current Certification per Naples Ordinance for greater than 250 crowd control.
- Maintains current CPR/AED Certification
- Must pass and sustain
