Job Summary:
The Security and AV Technician will be responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining security systems and audio-visual equipment. This role requires a strong understanding of both low-voltage electrical systems and AV technology. The ideal candidate will possess technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Install and configure security systems, including CCTV cameras, access control systems, and alarm systems. Set up and integrate AV systems, such as projectors, sound systems, video conferencing equipment, and digital signage. Run and terminate cabling for both security and AV systems, ensuring neat and organized installations. Perform routine maintenance on security and AV systems to ensure optimal performance. Diagnose and repair issues with security and AV equipment, including hardware and software troubleshooting. Provide on-site support for system malfunctions and ensure minimal downtime. Integrate security and AV systems with other networked systems, ensuring seamless operation. Program and customize systems to meet the specific needs of clients. Update firmware and software on security and AV devices as required. Collaborate with clients to understand their specific security and AV needs and provide solutions. Conduct client training sessions on the use of installed systems. Provide post-installation technical support and guidance to clients. Maintain accurate records of installations, configurations, and maintenance activities. Ensure all installations comply with industry standards and local regulations. Stay updated on the latest technology trends and advancements in security and AV systems. Promote and maintain a safe work environment. Perform additional duties as required to support business needs.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent required; relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA, AVIXA, or security certifications) are a plus. Proven experience in installing and maintaining security systems and AV equipment. Strong knowledge of low-voltage electrical systems, wiring, and cabling standards. Skilled with Microsoft Office Suite. Familiarity with network protocols and IP-based systems. Read and interpret technical drawings and schematics. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Safety first mindset. Pass a drug screen and background check. Valid driver’s license with a driving record that meets insurance requirements. Bilingual is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
Work inside and outside, including attics, crawl spaces, and roofs. Remain stationary at a desk, standing, and moving from place to place for prolonged periods. Move equipment and materials up to 50 pounds. Observe details at close range. Handle products, take notes, operate technology, and present information. Read documents and presentations using electronic devices and hard copy materials while interacting with others. Exchange accurate information in person, over the phone, in writing, and electronically. Communicate clearly and articulately for presentations and interpersonal interactions so others will understand. Drive to work, client sites, and as business needs require. Navigate uneven or slippery surfaces or both. Safely ascend and descend stairs and ladders as needed. Bend, kneel, crouch, and reach for extended periods.

Core Work Hours/Availability:
7:00 am until 4:00 pm Monday through Friday. Overtime as business needs require. On-call on a rotational basis.
