Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED required, supplemented by vocational or technical training in theater arts or a related field; supplemented by two years of experience in audio/visual, theater or related field; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
Specific License or Certification Required:
Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver’s license.

Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in performance of the essential functions and learn, comprehend, and apply all county or departmental policies, practices, and procedures necessary to function effectively in the position.
EXAMINATION
The examination will consist of an evaluation of education and experience, accomplished by analysis of the application. Application must document that the applicant possesses the minimum knowledge, skills, education and experience as listed to be rated as qualified. Purpose of Classification:
The purpose of this classification is to set up and operate audio-visual equipment and assist with backstage activities.
Essential Functions:
The following duties are normal for this position. The omission of specific statements of the duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification. Other duties may be required and assigned. Sets up and operates audio-visual equipment, such as multi-track tape recorders, microphones, public address systems, film projectors, slide projectors, video cassette recorders, and projector screens: selects proper equipment and accessories for use during various theater productions and other activities; conducts sound and lighting checks. Performs preventative maintenance and minor repair work on audio-visual equipment, including diagnosing malfunctioning equipment and determining parts and labor required for repair; coordinates major repairs and transports equipment to vendors.
Assists backstage:
works the main curtain; operates the pulley system; works as stage hand for theater productions. Sets up and tears down for performances and activities: opens and closes facilities; unlocks and locks gates and doors and secures grounds; loads and unloads sets and equipment; sets up and tears down chairs and tables; lays marley for dance performances; manages green room catering and promoter deliveries. Serves as point of contact for patrons, production staff, crew and cast; answers questions and provides information; directs talent, transportation and crew to parking area, etc. Operates or uses various equipment, power tools, hand tools, and supplies in order to complete work assignments: operates and maintains dolly, light board, public address system, pulley system and other tools and equipment as necessary to complete essential functions. Communicates with supervisor, other employees, clients, third party service contractors, the public, and other individuals as needed to coordinate work activities, review status of work, exchange information, or resolve problems.
