Overview:
Winston Salem Christian School is seeking a dynamic and creative individual to serve as our Digital Media & AV Specialist. This full-time position combines classroom instruction with media production and school-wide AV support. The ideal candidate will be passionate about Christian education, storytelling, technology, and equipping students with real-world digital skills.
Primary Responsibilities:
Teaching (High School Video Production – 2 Classes)
- Instruct two high school video production/media courses focused on content creation, editing, and broadcasting.
- Develop a Christ-centered, project-based curriculum that integrates media literacy, videography, and digital communication.
- Mentor students in hands-on video and media projects, including school events, chapel services, and promotional content. Audio-Visual (AV) Coordination
- Manage AV needs for school events including chapel, assemblies, theater productions, and graduation.
- Maintain and operate audio, video, lighting, and livestream equipment across campus.
- Train and support student AV teams to foster student leadership in technical roles. Digital Footprint & Media Development
- Assist in building and expanding the school’s digital presence through video content, social media, and website enhancements.
- Oversee live broadcast for select events on campus; developing the school’s youtube account.
- Collaborate with the administrative team to produce compelling visual content that promotes the school’s mission and culture.
- Lead student involvement in content creation to highlight student life, athletics, and academic excellence.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Digital Media, Communications, Education, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- Proficiency in video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro) and basic graphic design tools.
- Strong understanding of AV systems including soundboards, cameras, lighting, and livestreaming technology.
- Experience working in a school or ministry setting preferred.
