The AV Event Technician is responsible for providing AV and IT operations and support for a range of Dartmouth events. The AV Technician sets-up AV equipment, meets with presenters, collaborates closely with event organizers and clients to deliver a high-quality AV experience for in-person and virtual events. In this role, you’ll set up venues with installed AV equipment like projectors, microphones, and Zoom, ensuring each event runs smoothly. You’ll work closely with event organizers and presenters, ready to troubleshoot any issues that arise. You will also work along side with other event support providers. This term position offers flexible hours based on our event schedule, including nights and weekends. 1-2 years of experience with AV and IT equipment (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities
Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented approach
Physical ability to handle AV equipment, including frequent lifting and occasional work from ladders

EVENT AV OPERATIONS & SUPPORT
Sets-up and operates event AV and IT equipment including projectors, microphones, computers, conferencing software (e.g. Zoom), and presentation software (e.g. PowerPoint).
Troubleshoots AV and IT systems to quickly resolve issues during events.
Provides outstanding client service through event setup, presenter engagement, and event operations.
Trains clients on the use of AV technology and event best practics.
Assists with the ongoing maintenance and repair of event AV systems.
Creates and maintains documentation for technical issues, event processes, and technology use. Percentage Of Time

Assists with the scheduling and coordination of AV services for events in collaboration with event coordinators.
