FUNCTION

District Computer Engineering Specialist is a vital member of the district’s leadership team, responsible for the oversight and maintenance of audio visual and technology directly associated media communications components at the district and secondary levels, and ensures the effective use of technology and equipment while consulting on instructional strategies to provide high-quality, engaging and industry-relevant education. The role involves coaching career and technical education teachers and acting as a liaison between the Assistant Superintendent and facilities manager, and ensuring safety and proper operational procedures are followed.

QUALIFICATIONS

1. Certified Technology Specialist (CTS) – Leading professional AV Specialist Credential, Basic level audio visual technical knowledge. 2. 8,000 documented hours in the professional field 3. Proven experience in technology integration 4. Strong knowledge of broadcast and media equipment and comfort navigating it. 5 Excellent interpersonal, coaching, and communication skills. 6 Ability to troubleshoot technical issues efficiently. 7. Commitment to safety, professional development, and continuous improvement. History of effectively supervising staff Demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups and effectively communicate, both orally and in writing Track record and experience with data-driven decision-making in acquisition of resources A valid driver’s license as well as current insurance and vehicle with valid registration Required criminal history background check, physical and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal right to work in the

Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction

PERFORMANCE OF DUTIES

1. Program Support and Development Collaborate with the Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction and district administrators to support technology needs within the district, prioritizing the Career and Technological Education Programs and the high school. Assist in curriculum development, program assessment, and integrating industry standards. Support initiatives to increase student engagement, participation, and success in technology related career clusters, prioritizing the Career and Technical Education Department and high school. 2. Teacher Supervision, Coaching, and Support in Technology Use Mentor CTE teachers in the effective integration of technology and equipment into their instructional practices. Provide ongoing professional development and training related to emerging technologies, equipment use, safety procedures, and best practices. Observe classroom instruction and provide constructive feedback to enhance teaching effectiveness. Conduct safety training sessions for teachers and students on proper equipment use and handling. 3. Technology and Equipment Management Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair broadcast equipment, cameras, editing stations, and related media technology. Ensure all media and technical equipment are operational, properly maintained, and updated as needed. Keep an inventory of all technical equipment, tools, and supplies, and coordinate repairs and replacements. 4. Facilities Liaison and Equipment Safety Serve as the liaison between the CTE department and facilities management to coordinate the installation, maintenance, and safety inspections of technical equipment. – Ensure that all media and technical equipment are used in accordance with safety protocols and manufacturer guidelines. 5. Operational and Administrative Duties Develop and maintain documentation related to equipment inventory, maintenance logs, and safety procedures. Assist with grant writing and resource acquisition to support program expansion. Participate in district meetings, professional development, and strategic planning efforts related to CTE. 6. Additional Responsibilities Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in career and technical education. Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction.
