Job Description

Job Summary / Basic FunctionThe Multimedia Services Coordinator reports to the Director of Athletic Communications in support of all video production services for intercollegiate athletic programs and other university supported events in Tippin Gymnasium and at Memorial Stadium. The position will serve as the primary operational lead for all digital video, audio and scoreboards in Tippin Gymnasium, Natatorium and Memorial Stadium. The position will serve as the AV expert for the Tippin facilities and will oversee their operation as well as maintenance of the AV systems. They will create related digital content and provide training and support during competitions and other events. The coordinator will ensure that all equipment works properly and will perform operational support duties including ensuring proper maintenance of Tippin control room broadcasting equipment, cameras, lighting system, audio, and related systems is performed in a timely manner by appropriate personnel.

The coordinator will be responsible for production of video content for Tippin Gymnasium as well as live game streaming as required by the PSAC. They will communicate with audiovisual vendors regarding installation, maintenance, repair and life cycle replacement of necessary components for the outward facing facets of all digital video boards and scoreboards in Tippin Gymnasium, Natatorium and Memorial Stadium. The position will also collaborate with Computing Services for integration of the AV system with related broadcast infrastructure and systems.

Required Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

  • Design/Create/Edit Video Animations and Graphics for the Tippin Gym’s Daktronics Video Boards for all home sporting event and in arena events and other non-athletic related events inside Tippin Gym
  • Assist the Athletic Communications department in creation and publishing of graphic and video content for social, print and digital media
  • Assistance in filming/editing various video projects for Athletics Department
  • Setup and operate the Tippin Video Board Control room at home events. (Cameras, Microphones Scoreboard Equipment
  • Assist in the production of Video/Audio Stream of the Athletic Home Sporting events for all teams and other various athletic related eventsMinimum of Education / TrainingRequired Education Summary
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge regarding a variety of intercollegiate sports as well as NCAA rules and compliance In-depth knowledge of technical aspects of broadcast productions, with particular emphasis on equipment and operations of sporting events
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite applications
  • Experience NewTek/ BlueFrame and/or other applicable mainstream broadcast equipment
  • Ability to problem solve in challenging situations
  • Ability to multitask and plan for a high volume on concurrent event broadcasts
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience and knowledge with Digital Mixing Boards / DANTE Audio
  • Experience with Daktronics Video Boards / Scoreboard Equipment
  • Experience in fiber equipment
  • Basic knowledge of networkingPhysical Demands
  • Must be able to sit/stand for long periods of time due to durations of sporting events
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 35 poundsWork Location Tippin Gymnasium and Memorial Stadiums.

 Work HoursMust be available to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays, depending on athletic event schedules.
