Position Description Advertised Job Summary Reporting to the Assistant Director of Distributed Learning, this position plays a key role in developing innovative multimedia resources and supporting faculty in integrating technology effectively into their teaching. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in instructional media production, a deep understanding of educational technologies, and experience working in higher education settings. They should have strong skills in video production, editing, and multimedia development to create digital content that supports teaching goals. Job Related Minimum Required Education and Experience Requires a bachelor’s degree in a job related field and 2 or more years of job related experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of job related certification, training, education, and/or experience. Required Certification, Licensure/Other Credentials Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in educational technology, Digital Media, Film/Video Production, or a related field, plus two years of professional experience in educational video production and multimedia development. Expertise in video editing software such as Adobe Premiere, Camtasia, or similar tools. Experience integrating multimedia into learning management systems. OR Master’s degree in educational technology, Digital Media, Film/Video Production, or a related field, plus three or more years of professional experience in higher education instructional media production. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Knowledge Strong understanding of educational technology trends and multimedia best practices for higher education. Expertise in Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliance, Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), and Universal Design for Learning (UDL) in the context of multimedia accessibility and educational technology. Proficiency with LMS-integrated video tools (e.g., Panopto, Zoom). Skills Advanced video production, editing, and post-production techniques. Experience with motion graphics, animation, video compression, and streaming technologies. Ability to create interactive multimedia content that enhances online learning. Abilities Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to collaborate with faculty to develop effective digital learning materials. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Capacity to lift, carry, and operate video equipment as needed. Excellent communication and coaching skills, with a commitment to faculty support and innovation. Job Duties Job Duty Instructional Video Production & Editing Collaborate with faculty to design, develop, and produce instructional videos that enhance student engagement. Edit and refine video and audio content using industry-standard tools. Integrate interactive elements into videos to improve learning outcomes. Ensure all multimedia content meets accessibility standards. Essential Function Yes Percentage of Time 40 Job Duty Faculty Coaching & Educational Technology Support Provide guidance on best practices for integrating video and multimedia into course design. Stay current with emerging technologies in instructional media and support faculty in their effective use. Provide technical support and troubleshooting for faculty using multimedia tools.
