24 Months Contract Notes Onsite in Bristol CT -Sunday/Monday/Tuesday from 6PM-6AM and Wednesday from 6PM -Midnight. This person will help with upgrading all the IPTV boxeson campus in production areas and Working on RF and transmissionaspects of projects, among other things.

Media Engineers often find themselvesat the crossroads between hardware and software-based technologyand must possess a comprehensive theoretical and practicalunderstanding of the technology that powers the generation,monetization, and distribution of all forms of consumer- facinglinear and digital video/audio content. Responsibility includesnumerous systems such as Playout Technology, Studios, ProductionControl Rooms, Remote Production, Post-Production,Contribution/Distribution Systems, Networking, Cloud Compute,Production Software and Virtual Environment and more. The Sr. MediaEngineer is, simply put, is an expert engineer in the acquisition,production, and distribution of media content. They are well-versedin multiple technical standards and have hands-on experience in thesustainment of production systems. The Sr. Media Engineers are partof a tiered sustainment model where incidents are escalated from ashared operations team (tier 1) to the Media Engineer II’s (tier 2)and beyond. They are able to tackle the most complicated technicalissues, often spanning media software, networking and hardwaretroubleshooting with little assistance from senior engineers. TheSr. Media Engineer, while primarily focused on sustainment andincremental advancement of technology, may work on design/buildprojects that advance our overall business. Basic QualificationsRespond to and resolve issues that affect acquisition, production,and content distribution across multiple DEEPT networks includingsystem outages, malfunctions, and related technical problems, andconduct diagnostic testing, repair, and replacement activitiesnecessary to solve routine, specialized, and complex problems.

Utilize system health and performance monitoring software andplatforms; troubleshoot and participate in repairing systemproblems and failures, participates in maintenance of systems,installs software patches, updates etc., to resolve and avoidservice problems, and troubleshoots system problems as they relateto these services Analyze and troubleshoot streaming audio/videosignals in traditional SDI and IP 2110 essence flow routingenvironments. Analyze and troubleshoot cloud platforms as necessaryPerforms upgrades to system hardware and software workflows underthe supervision of a more experienced engineer or supervisor. Whenrequired perform preventative maintenance on all broadcast systemsand equipment, such as distribution systems, switchers, consoles,playout servers, cameras, robotics, electromechanical equipment,automation systems and radio facilities to ensure optimum broadcastperformance. Participates in engineering projects at the directionof more experienced engineers. Reviews and contributes tosystem/workflow documentation. Support third-party serviceproviders by enforcing the agreed upon scope of services within thevarious signed service agreements (i.e., full time, freelance,union agencies, maintenance providers, contractors, serviceproviders, etc.). Select, train, motivate and evaluate technicalstaff; provide or coordinate staff training; work with employees tocorrect deficiencies; implement discipline procedures. Support theprocurement of equipment, supplies and materials for Mediatechnology systems within budget guidelines; receive and maintainequipment and supplies. Support long range planning for futuremedia technology needs, including capital improvements, to enhanceproduction and distribution capabilities. Lead the development andimplementation of policies and procedures regarding technologyfacilities with a focus on maximizing the integration of allsystems to meet business, marketing, and entertainment goals. Leadoperational support of all activities related to operating,maintaining, and programming the audio and videoproduction/distribution systems across the enterprise and otherconnected properties. Participates in regular training anddevelopment objectives. Extraordinary influencer who is skilled atconnecting the dots at the organization, strategy, program,project, and event levels. Able to persuade and change the thinkingof others without damaging relationships. Business Objectives Minimum Qualifications:

5 years ofprevious and relevant experience in ensuring efficient sustainment,uptime, and overall stability of the technical environments ofMedia Engineering and live media production and distributionenvironments. Expert level knowledge and experience withintegrating, implementing, or refreshing broadcast control roomequipment, including familiarity with modern broadcast cablinginfrastructure used in broadcast environments. Proficient withtechnologies like microservices, DevOps tools, design principles,practices, standards and guidelines Scripting proficiency will bean advantage (Python, NodeJS, Bash, PowerShell) Proficient in SMPTEstandards for broadcast television and video production/streamingenvironments with a current certification such as not limited to

ST292M, ST 424M, ST 2110, ST 2059, IEE1588, ST

2022-7, SCTE-104, etc.

Advanced level knowledge and experience with on-prem andcloud-based storage and compute infrastructure platforms andcurrent technological offerings. At least one foundational cloudcertification required, including but not limited to

MicrosoftCertified:

Microsoft Clienture Fundamentals, CompTIA Cloud, AWSCertified Solutions Architect – Associate. Advanced level knowledgeand experience with compression techniques such as

MPEG2/4, HEVC,JPEG

2000, and JPEG XS. Expert level knowledge and experience withEvertz software control systems such as frame control via VistaLinkor Magnum, EQX/EXE routers, and their monitoring software

VLPRO,SDVN, VIP, VUE, MVP.

Advanced level knowledge and experience withmajor media systems and the vendors that supply them in areas suchas asset management systems, file-based workflows, mediaacquisition, transcoding/encoding, graphics, and NAS/SANtechnologies Expert level knowledge and experience with Nielsen(NACAT), VANC equipment, Linear Acoustics, and other relatedsystems. Expert level knowledge and experience with coordinatedreceiver decoders IRDs, core devices, edge devices, timing of videoand audio systems, audio and video media file formats are a plus.

Ability to create, read and interpret AutoCad and other technicaldrawing/documentation tools. Demonstrated advanced troubleshootingand sustaining in one or more of the following: IP-based broadcastequipment including routers, switchers, audio boards, signalprocessers, encoder/decoder, video scalers, playback systems, etc.

Studio technology includes video walls, cameras, VR set technology,image processing systems, touch screens, lighting, etc. File-basedworkflows like enterprise Media Asset Management systems(Cloud-based Cloud Compute or Local Network-based) includingstorage, compute, encode and distribution. Production controlsystems such as Imagine Communications or Grass Valley automationsystems, Avid, Adobe, Viz, Dalet, Riedel trunking, Lawo, Calrec,Evertz, Ross and others. Transmission systems such as RF (RadioFrequency), Satellite Distribution, Fiber Distribution, etc. Proventrack record for troubleshooting and sustainment knowledge of AWSInfrastructures and other cloud-based technologies includingS3/Glacier storage and cloud compute (EC2) services.

Physicalrequirements and work environment:

Ability to climb ladders, workon raised structures and building roofs, operate areal liftplatforms and have valid driver’s license. Preferred QualificationsBachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer science orequivalent major, and/or equivalent work experience.
