Part of the station’s Engineering management team, the ACE is responsible for coordinating day-to-day implementation and repair of station technical assets. This role has a strong need for someone with problem-solving skills, technical prowess, and the ability to direct and fulfill the success of additional members of the department.

The ideal candidate:

Has experience working in a broadcast production environment Is familiar with simple circuitry, wiring, and soldering Great communication and ability to teach others in a beneficial way Organized, structured, and planned project management Familiar with advanced concepts as it pertains to video cameras, microphones, mixers, transmitters, general networking, computer software and hardware, and building maintenanceWhat you can expect working as an

Assistant Chief Engineer:

Being part of a team focused on providing exemplary customer service, effective solutions, and having fun while doing so A high-energy environment, where no two days have the same tasks Support and assist the News department in maintaining live productions Implement, install & maintain engineering systems and provide end-user support across all departments Provide broadcast transmitter support, travel to remote transmission locations to troubleshoot or repair Replace or adjust defective and/or improperly functioning equipment Tracking and organizing the station vehicle fleet, coordinating repairs and registrations

Requirements:

Valid & unencumbered driver’s license Work experience, education, and/or formal training/certification in one or more of an engineering-related field (e.g., technology; information systems; computer science; electrical engineering and/or electronics) All-weather attendance Some on-call, off-hour periods are required Must be able to operate test equipment, work in and around fixed machinery and AV equipment; use power tools; lift heavy loads up to 50 lbs.; work at heights using ladders; and drive a company motor vehicleBonus points for: Familiarity with FCC regulations CAD Rohde and Schwarz Transmitter experience
