Job Description

Q.C./ Production / Returned Goods Tech Danner Manufacturing Islandia, NY 11749 In this position you will handle the inspection and processing of returned customer products, ensuring they meet quality standards, while undergoing training in quality control procedures to identify defects, document issues, determine component acceptability and the position also determines the appropriate actions like repair, replacement, or disposal, as well as perform the actual repair as needed. Assist Production personnel in daily operations needed to maintain finished goods and meet the required output levels. Daily involvement in aspects of the manufacturing processes to ensure product quality and customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities may include:
  • Receiving returned goods: Unpacking and sorting returned items based on reason for return and company policies.
  • Visual inspection: Conducting a thorough visual inspection of returned products to identify any damage, defects, or discrepancies with product specifications.
  • Functionality testing: Performing basic functionality tests on returned products as needed to verify proper operation.
Documentation:

Accurately recording details of returned items including damage type, reason for return, and inspection findings on appropriate forms.

  • Quality checks: Comparing returned products to established quality standards and guidelines.
  • Dispositioning returns/Performing the
Repair:

Determining the appropriate action for returned goods, such as repair, replacement, refund, or disposal based on inspection findings and company policy. If repair or replacement is determined adherence to technical specifications is critical to ensure the product meets quality standards.

  • Data entry: Updating inventory systems with details of returned products.
Communication:

Collaborating with customer service, warehouse staff, and off-site quality control team to address return issues and ensure proper handling. Also required to communicate directly with overseas vendors and Danner Q.C. Inspector based in Asia via emails.

  • Training and development: Participating in ongoing training on quality control procedures, product specifications, and company return policies.
  • Other duties and Special Projects as needed: a.

Loading liquid Epoxy into production equipment. b. Build finished goods for immediate sale or warehouse Inventory. c. Assist in unloading goods arriving from overseas. d. Audit Inventory of selected items. e. Maintaining a safe and clean work area.

Required skills:

Strong attention to detail Good hand-eye coordination Ability to follow established procedures and guidelines. Basic computer skills for data entry and record keeping including emails, files, photos, and videos. Ability to read basic measurement tools and interpret mechanical drawings. Effective communication skills to report issues and collaborate with team members.

  • Capable of thriving in a demanding environment with tight deadlines and last-minute needs. Excellent organizational, problem solving, active listening, written and verbal communication skills. Able to independently set-up and perform lab test and document results. Able to “switch gears” and perform different tasks at a moment’s notice.
  • Ability to anticipate work needs and interact professionally with vendors and customers.
  • Highly motivated, self-disciplined, detail-oriented person with the ability to prioritize, multi-task, follow-up and follow through. A team player who can work efficiently, effectively, and harmoniously.
  • Must be able to interact with Management, Production, and Warehouse personnel.
Qualifications:
  • MUST BE computer literate. Proficiency in NetSuite or other manufacturing systems a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook and Word. Intermediate familiarity with Publisher, Adobe Illustrator & Excel.
  • No experience necessary on the job training.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.
  • Must be dependable, arrive ahead of time and ready to start work prior to 8 am.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the USA.
Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods working on a computer and standing.
  • Must be able to lift fifty pounds.
