Full Job Description Overview:

The Board Operator is responsible for maintaining quality on-air levels and flow of programs as well as reacting efficiently in the case of automation failure. This is accomplished by monitoring our systems to ensure that everything you hear on-air gets played on time, smoothly, and without any glitches. This role will watch overnight news to alert our listeners in specific markets of any danger in times of crisis. This position is the vanguard of all audio platforms. What will you do? Monitor and make adjustments as needed to the Zetta systems while they are in automation if abnormalities occur. Keeps the Automation systems on time as it relates to top of the hour, breaks and running of ID’s. Maintains on-air programming in the event of Zetta system failure. Answers the studio phone lines, responding to listeners’ questions regarding the station, songs, and requests of information Maintains on-air programming in the event of Zeta System failure Maintains clean and safe studio by dusting and wiping down counters and equipment as needed. Loads voice tracks. Enters the top of the hour hooks, newscast and news bites. Runs the studio board for newscast with a live news person. Runs an EAS Test as needed. Recovers missing voice tracks. What are we looking for? High School Diploma Preferred Knowledge of equipment used for sound/audio or production of on-air material. Radio production background is a plus. Proven ability to work through multiple, simultaneous problems in a systematic, logical manner. Demonstrated ability to work independently; meeting performance expectations / ministry goals. Strong computer skills and the ability to learn new technologies quickly Good written and verbal communication skills.
