Associate Director of Copywriting – Healthcare & Patient Engagement
A leading content and brand experience agency is seeking a Director of Copywriting to join its healthcare division, focused on developing content that informs, supports, and empowers patients and caregivers across large-scale pharmaceutical programs. This division specializes in translating complex medical and regulatory information into experiences that are accessible, engaging, and actionable.
As Director of Copy, you’ll lead the development of content for major healthcare clients, with a strong focus on patient support programs and multichannel campaigns. You’ll manage the tone, voice, and messaging across key accounts, while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to ensure accuracy, creativity, and compliance in every deliverable.

What You’ll Do:

Lead the planning, development, and editing of content across patient, caregiver, and professional-facing communications
Translate strategic objectives into compelling copy that adheres to regulatory and medical standards
Collaborate with account, design, and strategy teams to ensure content aligns with program goals and brand tone
Provide editorial leadership and mentorship to copywriters and junior team members
Guide content through the medical/legal/regulatory (MLR) review process, ensuring precision and clarity in all materials
Work directly with client stakeholders to present ideas, discuss messaging, and refine deliverables
Balance content quality and volume in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Contribute to the creation of content across formats: video scripts, digital assets, social media, print, and live experiences
Maintain a deep understanding of healthcare compliance and brand voice integrity

What You Bring:

Deep experience writing for pharmaceutical Patient Support Programs (PSPs) or healthcare communications
Proven ability to lead content strategy, development, and execution within regulatory frameworks
Strong editorial sensibility and attention to detail
Skilled communicator, able to simplify complex information while preserving accuracy and tone
Experience managing and mentoring creative teams
Ability to present and defend creative work to senior client stakeholders
High level of organization and accountability, with the ability to juggle multiple content streams

Qualifications:

8+ years in healthcare/pharmaceutical marketing, ideally in roles such as Copy Director, Group Copy Supervisor, or similar
Fluency in medical/legal/regulatory (MLR) processes and terminology
Strong cross-functional collaboration skills
Excellent grammar, editing, and storytelling abilities
Familiarity with omnichannel content strategies and digital-first execution
