As a dedicated Visual Strategist Senior, you will be responsible for shaping and executing the visual storytelling strategy across all channels, ensuring a cohesive and impactful brand presence. Work with cross-functional teams to develop innovative visual content that aligns with strategic objectives and resonates with the target audience. Additionally, this role collaborates with the Channels team to drive execution of USAA’s Channel strategy. We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position can be based in one of the following locations: San Antonio, TX, Plano, TX or Charlotte, NC. Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
- What you’ll do:
- + Executes creative tactics across multiple creative platforms, channels, and media types, ensuring consistency with the creative strategy.
+ Partners closely with senior leadership and strategy teams to translate abstract concepts and data into clear, compelling visual tools and narratives that foster alignment, engagement, and understanding across the organization. + Contributes to the development of idea platforms that drive cross-functional alignment, ensuring creative solutions address broader business challenges and allow for innovation across campaigns. + Develops and leads the visual storytelling strategy in alignment with brand objectives. + Collaborates with Corporate Affairs, Marketing, and other stakeholders to create integrated campaigns that leverage visual content. + Monitors and evaluates the performance of visual content, using analytics to inform future strategies. + Leads creative brainstorming sessions to generate innovative ideas for visual content. + Provides day-to-day creative leadership on visual direction for multiple campaigns and projects, balancing innovation and brand standards. + Supports the development and implementation of new tools, processes, and frameworks that drive innovation and improve efficiency within the creative discipline. + Develops breakthrough creative solutions that push brand boundaries, ensuring that creative outputs are compelling, innovative, and on-brand across all channels, while ensuring consistency in visual identity and messaging across all platforms. + Stays updated on industry trends and emerging technologies in visual communication. + Works closely with the Channels team to fulfill our Channel strategy, ensuring that visual content is optimized for each channel. + Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.
- What you have:
- + Bachelor’s degree in business, graphic design, visual arts, marketing, communications, or a related field; OR 4 years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree.
+ 6 years of experience in creative strategy or visual communication. + Proven track record of developing and executing successful visual campaigns for large brands. + Demonstrated ability to take flat words on a page and bring the thought to life visually. + Experience in a cross-functional collaborative environment, ideally within a Fortune 500 company or agency. + Demonstrated experience developing high-profile presentations for large audiences, including executive leadership. + Demonstrated advanced presentation skills in media technology such as PowerPoint, Photoshop, After Effects, and designing for various output media. + Demonstrated ability to integrate editorial content with graphic and interactive media. + Experience presenting and communicating creative strategies and concepts to cross-functional teams and/or leadership. + Advanced knowledge of the financial service industry. + Advanced understanding of marketing/advertising, user experience, and/or interactive design principles.

+ Deep expertise in motion graphics, interactive design, or data visualization, with examples of using these skills to tell complex stories. + Experience in user research and A/B testing to optimize visual content for engagement and conversion. + US military experience through military service or a military spouse/domestic partner
- Compensation range:
- The salary range for this position is: $93,770
- $168,790.

You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location. Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
