Job Description
The Creative Therapy Department , through the use of four Arts Modalities
- Movement, Drama, Visual Arts, and Music Therapy, provide consumers with individual and group services to meet their emotional, social, behavioral, cognitive, physical and artistic needs.
The Creative Therapy Supervisor is responsible for the coordination of the Creative Therapy Department’s staff and the department’s services to the consumers. This position is designated Mandatory and must report or stay over during adverse weather events. Salary Grade MH11 ; Recruitment Range $48,456.00

Management Preferences:
Experience working with individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities. Supervisory experience. Interdisciplinary coordination. Excellent organizational and communication skills Bachelor’s degree in music therapy which includes a six month internship from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of professional experience in the specialty area; or Bachelor’s degree in music or music education with an equivalency in music therapy which includes a six month internship from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of professional experience in all areas/phases of therapeutic programming; or Bachelor’s degree in one of the creative/expressive arts areas (art, dance, drama, music) from an appropriately accredited institution and four years of experience in the specialty area; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Administering the class:
if the creative/expressive arts degree program has a therapeutic option or emphasis, two years of the experience requirements will be waived. Degrees must be from appropriately accredited colleges or universities. The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
