Summary of Job Duties:
The Assistant/Associate Director of Creative Services is responsible for developing, executing and maintaining a comprehensive web and visual design, and social media communications strategy to increase the visibility and interest of prospective and current students for Bumpers College and the University of Arkansas, ensuring appropriate and consistent branding. The Assistant/Associate Director of Creative Services reports to and is evaluated by the Director of Communication in Bumpers College and works in collaboration with the development and external relations team, dean’s office staff, college and campus colleagues, and the Division of Agriculture and the Arkansas Agricultural Experiment Station. Regular, non-disruptive and reliable attendance is required, as well as the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education
At least two or more years of full-time professional experience in web management and design, and graphic design (OR Master’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education)
Demonstrated experience with current web technologies such as CSS, HTML, Javascript
Demonstrated experience with Adobe Creative Cloud, especially: Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Publisher)
Demonstrated graphic and interface design experience
Experience with PHP/MySQL content management, blog, or wiki systems (WordPress, MediaWiki, OmniUpdate, etc.)
Experience with OmniUpdate
Experience with emergent web and internet technologies (podcasting, blogging, etc.) and demonstrated history of exploration of emergent technologies
Experience in a higher education communications setting
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities (KSAs):
Excellent client relations skills, practiced interpersonal, oral, and written communications skills
Demonstrated excellent training and supportive skills
Strong attention to detail and efficient time management skills
Creative and good organizational skills
Ability to support the use of social and new media
