We are currently seeking a dynamic, experienced Art Team Leader to lead our in-house art team located in Inman, SC. This position will be responsible for delivering innovative, brand-aligned visual content for major national retailers and a rapidly growing outdoor lifestyle brand. This role combines strong leadership, creative direction, project management, and a deep understanding of apparel graphic design for clothing, accessories, and other outdoor related items. The Art Team Leader will ensure that all artwork meets strategic objectives, supports sales and marketing goals, and maintains the highest visual and brand standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Management Lead, mentor, and manage a team of graphic designers, illustrators, and production artists. Provide clear direction and feedback on all creative projects. Set priorities, allocate resources, and ensure deadlines are met. Foster a collaborative, high-performance team culture. Project Management Oversee multiple concurrent projects from concept to delivery, ensuring quality and timeliness. Collaborate with product development, sales and marketing teams to align vision and deliverables. Manage timelines and workflow. Retail & Brand Alignment Develop artwork that resonates with diverse retailer audiences including Outdoor Brands as well as Men’s, Woman’s and Kids Casual Sportswear and Logo. Understand the outdoor consumer and translate that insight into strong visual storytelling. Adapt creative work across various media—packaging, print, digital, and environmental graphics. Creative Oversight Review and approve artwork for packaging, promotional materials, product designs, retail signage, and digital campaigns. Ensure creative output aligns with brand standards, retailer requirements, and project briefs. Translate business and marketing goals into compelling visual solutions.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of professional design experience, with at least 2 years in leadership or team management role.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing complex workflows.
- Experience working with outdoor or lifestyle brands.
- Occasional travel required for seasonal presentations.
- Familiarity with retailer-specific branding guidelines and approval processes.
- Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, Fine Arts, Visual Communication, or related field
