Salaried Position Schedule:

Flexible hours including occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays Shady Grove Church in Dandridge, TN is seeking a creative, organized, and mission-driven Director of Communications & Advertising to lead and grow our communication efforts. This part-time, salaried position plays a vital role in promoting our ministries, events, and outreach in a way that reflects our faith and engages the wider community. You’ll work closely with the Pastor and ministry leaders to share the story of what God is doing at Shady Grove.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement a comprehensive communication strategy across digital, print, and in-person channels Manage and update the church website with fresh, accurate content including events, ministries, and sermon series Create and maintain a consistent visual brand through graphics, videos, signage, and merchandise Design and produce digital and print media: social posts, newsletters, bulletins, banners, flyers, and slides Plan and execute promotional campaigns for church events and ministry initiatives Produce media content for Sunday services, including announcement slides, sermon bumper videos, and short video segments Coordinate social media presence—schedule content, engage followers, and track effectiveness Collaborate with staff and volunteers to support communication for small groups, classes, and ministries Ensure all content aligns with the church’s values, mission, and brand

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Graphic Design, or related field preferred—or equivalent experience or skill Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills Proficient in graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) and video editing software Experience managing social media platforms and website content Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines independently Self-starter with creativity, a collaborative spirit, and a heart for ministry Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends as needed Must pass a pre-employment background check

Preferred Skills:

Church or nonprofit communications experience Familiarity with worship presentation tools (e.g., ProPresenter, Planning Center) Basic photography and video production skills
