The PA Announcer / Scoreboard Operator will announce batters and other in-game updates during Florida Complex League (FCL) home games for the FCL Rays, while also playing walk-up and in-game music, and operating the scoreboard. As mentioned, the role will revolve around the FCL home schedule, which starts Monday, May 5th. Typical scheduled home games will start at 12:00pm noon, with Saturday games starting at 10:00am EST (times subject to change). This role keeps fans engaged and informed and plays a key role in the overall game operation. This position will be paid at an hourly rate.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Announce batters and in-game substitutions
Assist with special announcements (anthem, player intros, first pitches, pre-game) Ensure all announcements are accurate and on time
Operate scoreboard by accurately representing the number of outs, balls, strikes, innings, runs, hits, and errors in a timely manner
Queue in-game music (walk-up songs, music in-between innings)
Communicate with official scorers/umpires regarding in-game changes, as needed
Qualifications:
Advanced knowledge of the game of baseball Ability to speak English with clear dictation
Must be organized, flexible, and able to work in a live-production and face-paced environment Availability to work non-standard hours including nights, weekends, holidays, and commit to 25-30 games throughout the summer
