Elegant Music Group (EMG) is a full-service entertainment company offering bands, DJs, live musicians, photobooths, lighting and event design. Servicing over 1500 events a year, EMG is seeking Wedding DJ Apprentice candidates to assist our private events and to grow into an Event Host role.

Starting Wage Job Description:
Our Wedding DJ Apprenticeship is designed to develop a candidate into an Event Host/Wedding DJ at Elegant Music Group through on and off the job training and development. This role will primarily assistant our Event Hosts on weddings and events, typically on weekend evenings. An apprentice will assist with the set up and breakdown of audio and production equipment, practice DJ controller and microphone skills on and off events, and develop their communication skills with EMG clients. In addition apprentices will be expected to be experts on all production equipment and roles for our events, including photo booths, lighting, and effects. •This role is designed to train new DJ’s to become committed Event Hosts/Wedding DJ’s with Elegant Music Group. Event Hosts at EMG are expected to work 30-50 events per year during wedding season (April-October), primarily Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.•
Responsibilities:
Attend paid training seminars provided by Elegant Music Group to learn how to use and troubleshoot all of our equipment, and to learn the flow of our events Complete required DJ training sessions online and in-person Have weekend availability (scheduled shifts can be expected to take place Friday-Sunday) Have weekday availability for training sessions (schedule is flexible) Receive and carry out directions as provided by event lead / staffing manager Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times Unload vehicles at event and help with the overall load in and out Must be on time for set up of all events Ensure proper care and handling of company equipment Maintain a current knowledge-base of all services we offer
Knowledge, Skill and Experience Required:
Excellent communication and time management skills Interest in developing their Wedding and Event DJ’ing and MC’ing skills Personable and great communication skills Some DJ’ing skills (1-3 years is ideal) Music/Sound/Production equipment knowledge preferred Must have your own means of transportation Willing and able to work in a positive team environment Must maintain a valid state driver’s license Ability to lift more than 50lbs Must be able to stand for long periods of time and be able to bend and reach overhead
