$30.7K – $38.9K a year 1 day ago Qualifications Organizational skills Communication skills Entry level Full Job Description Primary Duties Perform as one of the Charleston RiverDogs’ mascots, including “Charlie T. RiverDog”, at home games at Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Ballpark as well as other RiverDogs sponsored events throughout the year. Have availability for majority of RiverDogs scheduled community and team appearances. This includes but is not limited to sponsors, charities, media and private functions. Personally interact with RiverDogs fans. Work directly with the Community Relations, Promotions and Game Operations departments to assist in the development of the following areas: Create skits, dance routines, and other forms of mascot-related entertainment, crowd engagement and fan interactions. Develop the character of “Charlie” which includes researching and identifying opportunities to grow the identity and presence of the mascot and the RiverDogs brand in the Charleston area. Responsible for mascot costume operations including creativity, care, cleaning, maintenance, etc. Distribute Charleston RiverDogs promotional items designed to help increase team spirit and attendance at games and events.

Requirements:

Must be available to work non-traditional hours including most home games, some nights, and some weekends. Due to costume restrictions, candidates must be at least 5 feet 8 inches tall but no more than 6 feet 4 inches tall. Fan friendly and outgoing individual. Works well with children and other staff members at many events. Must be able to lift approximately 50 lbs and endure high temperatures. Ideal candidate should be in good physical condition, highly energetic, athletic and have some performance background. If you have been a mascot or performer before, please upload a video.

Qualifications:

Motivated individuals with the desire to gain experience in mascot performance. Outgoing and creative personality with a willingness and desire to have fun. Willingness to perform wacky promotional activities on field and in the community. Willingness to represent Charleston RiverDogs, and our mission and core values, in a positive manner on and off site. Must be well organized and flexible to meet time, priority and workload demands. Strong communication skills with all levels within the organization. Ability to troubleshoot situations without delay and act accordingly. Perform mascot duties in a manner deemed acceptable according to the Charleston RiverDogs’ standards.
